Water, Water

As usual, I have a long way to go on this one, but thought I would post a copy! It is slow going because I have been doing washes on large areas and then having to wait for it to dry! I work on the Christmas picture while this one is drying. That one doesn’t look like there is any progress on it though, so there is no reason to post that one again yet.

I am really intrigued with this picture of a water spigot. This picture was taken in Rome and I just fell in love with it. It seems to be such a simple thing, and yet, it has to be older than anything I have seen like it! Maybe I should do a series of paintings on places to get water. I have a neat pic of one of my children pumping water and another of a man getting water at a community place in Rome. I think that it had carbonated water even! Can’t imagine one of those here!

  1. I’m usually not a fan of watercolor, but I like your work and I really like where this is headed. Thanks for sharing your work-in-progress.
(ps – I think it’s spelled spigot. Weird, right?) 😉
